HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Provides childcare assistance for Protective Services and Low Income families.

For single parent/guardian/responsible person households, an average of 25 hours a week participation in one or more of the activities listed is required for childcare assistance.

For two-parent households, 35 hours a week participation in one or more of the activities listed is required for childcare assistance.

Appropriate participation activities:

  • Employment
  • Vocational Training not to exceed 12 months
  • Secondary School or equivalent for teens

HOW TO APPLY - Complete the Inquiry/Screening for Childcare Service (Form 66). This form may be obtained from this Web site or by applying in person at the DFCS. All applications must be signed and dated and the need for childcare must be indicated (see the box in the upper right part of the form). Applications may be mailed to DFCS, 877 Battle Creek Road, Jonesboro, GA 30236 or filed in person from Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

ELIGIBILITY

AGE: Children under 13 years of age. The age may be higher due to court order or disability.
INCOME: Maximum allowable income per family unit. (See chart below)

FEES: Childcare reimbursements are based on the following:

  • Age of the child
  • The times that the child is in care
  • The type of provider program
  • The geographical zone where the care is
