PROGRAMS TO DESIGNED TO PROMOTE WELL-BEING

  • FOOD STAMPS - A US Department of Agriculture Program which provides assistance to single people and families with little or no income to buy food. In Clayton County, for FY 2001, 4,669 households were helped with $13,629,332 being expended.
  • MEDICAID - A governmental program designed to provide a program through which pregnant women, children under nineteen (19), low-income families, elderly, disabled, and blind individuals can obtain medical assistance. In Clayton County, for FY 2001, 52,148 individuals were helped with $86,247,240 being expended.
